2,4,5-Trifluorobenzoic acid is a white to light yellow crystal powder.

Application

One of the most common synthetic applications of 2,4,5-Trifluorobenzoic acid (TFBA )is as a precursor for the synthesis of various heterocyclic compounds. For example, TFBA can be used as a starting material for the synthesis of 2,4,5-trifluorobenzo[b]thiophene, a key intermediate in the production of OLED materials. It can also be used to prepare derivatives such as 2,4,5-trifluorobenzoic acid hydrazide, which exhibits antimicrobial activity against various microorganisms.

TFBA is also an important intermediate for the synthesis of biologically active compounds. For instance, it has been used as a building block for the synthesis of the potent antitumor agent Taxol (paclitaxel). In addition, TFBA derivatives have shown potential activity as anticancer agents, anti-inflammatory agents, and in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease.
