Application

At room temperature and pressure, methyl nonafluorobutyl ether is a colorless, transparent liquid. It has some volatility and is miscible with typical organic solvents but insoluble in water. Nonafluorobutyl methyl ether is an organic ether molecule that contains fluorine and shares many of Freon's physical and chemical characteristics. Among the novel CFC alternative product families, it is the least hazardous and has some industrial production potential. Switch out Freon, which is worse for the environment.

This compound's low surface tension, high inertness, and wettability make it a great option for cleaning electronic devices and has useful uses in the manufacture and upkeep of some medical devices.
