Application
aromatic nucleophilic substitution reaction:

Pentafluoropyridine (1.05 equiv, 1.05 mmol) is added to a combination of 4-bromophenol (7,1 equiv, 1 mmol) and anhydrous potassium carbonate (1.05 equiv, 1.05 mmol) in a dry reaction flask that is kept at 25°C. Mix the 5 mL suspension. After that, the reaction mixture was agitated for roughly twelve hours, and a TLC spot plate was used to track the reaction's development. Hydrochloric acid (1 M, 10 mL) was used to quench the reaction mixture at the conclusion of the reaction. Ethyl acetate was then used three times to remove the aqueous layer. After separating and washing the organic layer with five milliliters of brine, it was dried over anhydrous Na2SO4, filtered to get rid of the drying agent, and the filtrate evaporated under low pressure. To extract the desired product molecule, the residue is separated and purified using silica gel column chromatography (DCM/Hex 15:1).
