Through esterification, amination, diazotization, and the Sandermeyer reaction, 3-chlorobenzoic acid was produced using 3,4,5,6-tetrafluorophthalic acid as the starting material. Consequently, utilized in esterification Fuming sulfuric acid; during diazotization and Sandermeier reaction, the solvent was changed from water to water and dichloroethane, which boosted the yield and improved the quality. In conclusion, the synthesis route has a straightforward operation, mild conditions, and a 61.8% increase in yield.
