Preparation:
By reacting 2,6-dichlorobenzonitrile with potassium fluoride: This is the most common synthesis method. Specific steps include: mixing 2,6-dichlorobenzonitrile (DCBN) and potassium fluoride (KF) in a certain proportion in the non-polar solvent sulfolane, reacting at 170-175°C for 1-5 hours, and then React for 3-5 hours at 220°C to finally obtain 2,6-difluorobenzonitrile (DFBN), with a yield of about 90% and a purity of ≥98%
Several techniques, such as the reaction of 2,6-difluoroaniline with cyanogen bromide or the reaction of 2,6-difluorobenzoyl chloride with sodium cyanide, can be used to synthesize 2,6-Difluorobenzonitrile. A straightforward dehydrative cyclization procedure can also be used to convert 2,6-difluorobenzamide into 2,6-difluorobenzonitrile.
