Method of preparation: Fill the microwave reactor with 6.88g (50 mmol) of o-chlorobenzonitrile, 11.6g (200 mmol) of KF, 20 ml of sulfolane, and 2.1 g (5 mmol) of tetraphenylphosphonium bromide in that order. Heat the reactor with 300 W of power, then use GC to follow the Chemicalbook reaction. The reaction ends when the raw material content is less than 5%. After four hours of reaction at 180°C, the microwave stops the reaction. After the reaction solution is brought to room temperature, vacuum filtering is used to remove the insoluble solid. 2-fluorobenzonitrile is the result of distilling the filtrate at a lower pressure. ultimate yield of 74.6% on 4.56g.
