Carbon dioxide and ammonia reduction method: This process creates 3,4-difluorobenzonitrile by reacting carbon dioxide and ammonia with 3,4-difluorochlorobenzene, reducing agent, organic solvent, nickel catalyst, and ligand. The following are the precise steps: Add ammonia and carbon dioxide to a gas that contains ligands, nickel catalysts (like NiI2, NiCl2·DME, etc.), organic solvents, reducing agents (like Cl3SiH, PhSiH3, Et3SiH), and 3,4-difluorochlorobenzene. The reaction temperature in the reaction chamber is between 80°C and 200°C, and it takes 6 to 12 hours. When the reaction is finished, the target product is produced.‌
