N,N'-Bis(2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-piperidinyl)-1,3-benzenedicarboxamide
C26H42N4O2
CAS No.: 42774-15-2

Application
The capacity of BTA-2 to counteract the damaging effects of UV radiation is one of its main advantages. UV radiation exposure can result in chain scission, crosslinking, and other chemical processes in materials that cause deterioration and discoloration. Free radicals and other reactive species produced by UV radiation are captured by HALS, such as BTA-2, to stop them from damaging the material. BTA-2 works very well at preserving outdoor-use items like polyester, PVC, and other similar materials.
Thermal stability is one of BTA-2's other key characteristics. This compound is appropriate for use in high-temperature applications including electronic components and automobile coatings since it can tolerate temperatures as high as 200°C without breaking down. Because of its high stability, it can also continue to function over time, providing the material with long-lasting protection.
