Synthesis: 1,3-dimethyl-3,4,5,6-tetrakis was added after methanol (3.2 mL, 79 mmol) was gradually added to a solution of KOtBu (7.4 g, 66 mmol) and dimethylformamide (15 mL). Pyrimidine hydro-2(1H) (6 mL). For thirty minutes, the solution is heated to 80°C. Once combined, add 1,3-difluorobenzene (2.6 mL, 26 mmol) and Chemicalbook. Spend an additional 3.5 hours heating the solution at 80°C. Room temperature was reached by cooling the reaction mixture. Water and 10% brine were used twice to wash the reaction mixture. The reaction mixture should be dried. There was concentration in the reaction mixture. The resultant m-fluoroanisole underwent flash chromatography (1% EtOAc in hexane) to achieve purification.
