The amount of dimethyl sulfate used as the raw material, 2,3,5,6-tetrafluoro-p, was 1.3 times that of benzenedimethanol, and the reaction temperature was 40–50°C. These optimized process conditions were achieved by using dimethyl sulfate as the methylation reagent, sodium hydroxide as the reaction base, and toluene as the organic solvent. The synthesis technique is appropriate for industrial production and offers the benefits of quick reaction stages, high total reaction yield, and minimal pollutant emissions.
