Application
High-performance lithium-ion batteries use nonafluorobutanesulfonylimide as an electrolyte, which is one of its main uses. It has been demonstrated to have excellent thermal stability, minimal flammability, and good electrochemical stability, making it a desirable choice for use in laptop batteries, electric car batteries, and other electronic equipment.
Nonafluorobutanesulfonylimide can also be used as a solvent to extract and separate metal ions. It has shown great efficacy in the separation of rare earth elements and in the purification of valuable metals like gold and silver.
A variety of coatings, including anti-corrosion and anti-fouling coatings, also contain nonafluorobutanesulfonylimide. It may successfully repel water and stop the accumulation of marine organisms on environmental structures like ship hulls and offshore drilling platforms due to its hydrophobic qualities.
