Application
Place 2,6-difluorobenzamide, aqueous sodium hydroxide solution, and aqueous sodium hypochlorite solution in a vacuum-dried reaction flask. Allow the mixture to cool to -5 degrees. Stir the mixture for one and a half hours. TLC spot plates can be used to track the course of the reaction. Following the completion of the reaction, quench it with sodium bisulfate aqueous solution. Next, add ethyl acetate to the reaction system, shake it evenly, and separate the two phases. Under vacuum, the organic layer is condensed to yield the desired product molecule, 2,6-difluoroaniline.
Insecticides, fungicides, and herbicides can all be made with 2,6-difluoroaniline, another crucial pesticide intermediate. For instance, the herbicide flutriazine can be made using 2,6-Difluoroaniline.
