Synthetic route:
1. Synthesize 2,6-difluorobenzonitrile through dichlortrile, with a yield of about 82%;

2. Synthesize 2,6-difluorobenzonitrile through 1,3-difluorobenzene and N,N-dimethylformamide, with a yield of about 42%;

In the industrial production process of 2,6-difluorobenzonitrile, chemical raw materials are synthesised using 2,6-dichlorobenzonitrile as the raw material and potassium fluoride as an alkali metal fluoride. The resulting 2,6-difluorobenzonitrile is then rectified in the presence of a catalyst and a solvent, which are anhydrous N,N-dimethylformamide and quaternary ammonium salt, respectively. The invention boasts a high yield of up to 90%, consistent quality, and a big manufacturing volume. After distillation, the product's purity can approach 99%, which is useful for processing and other applications later on. There is no need for electric heating and little energy consumption in the production process, the raw ingredients for the reaction are inexpensive and easy to obtain.
