Application

4 milliliters of 10% acetic acid aqueous solution should contain 1 millimole of phenol, 1.5 millimole of Selectfluor, and 0.05 millimole of Eosin Y. The reaction should be exposed to 12W blue light at room temperature for six hours. Add saturated NaCl aqueous solution to the reaction solution when the reaction is finished, then extract using dichloromethane. To extract the crude chemical, the organic layer was dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, filtered, and evaporated to dryness under low pressure. The crude chemical was separated using silica gel column chromatography, with the eluate having an Rf value of 0.3-0.5 obtained by TLC tracking and a mobile phase consisting of a solution with a volume ratio of 1:9 between ethyl acetate and petroleum ether.
