2,6-Difluorobenzaldehyde
C7H4F₂O
CAS No.: 437-81-0

Application
Synthesis
The two primary synthesis processes are chemical and electrochemical, with fluorination being the primary chemical synthesis method.
2,6-difluorobenzaldehyde was produced by a fluorination reaction in sulfolane using 2,6-dichlorobenzaldehyde and potassium fluoride as raw ingredients. The fractional distillation separation method was used to purify the product, and uniform design was used to improve the process conditions. 150 mL of sulfolane is used, the molar ratio of KF to 2,6-dichlorobenzaldehyde is 3:1, the reaction period is 12 hours, and the reaction temperature is 220 When temperatures are below freezing, the goal product yield is 61.2%.and the mass percentage exceeds 98.1%. As an alternative, 2,6-difluorobenzaldehyde can be produced by halogen-exchanging and fluorinating potassium fluoride, using tetrabutylammonium chloride as the catalyst and sulfolane and toluene as the media. Under anhydrous and oxygen-free conditions, this procedure is a fluorination reaction. High-quality industrial items with a high synthetic conversion rate can be produced using this technique.
A tubular reactor can also be used to continuously add 2,6 difluorotoluene compounds, hydrogen peroxide as an oxidant, acetic acid as a solvent, and one or more metal ion complexes of cobalt, molybdenum, and bromine as catalysts. 6-difluorotoluene is oxidized to create 2,6-difluorobenzaldehyde. This method has a quick reaction time, a high rate of raw material utilization, mild circumstances, a high production efficiency, continuous operation, safety, stability, and the capacity to achieve effective control throughout the reaction process.
